The biggest and most popular beach in South Haven, North Beach boasts beautiful views, as well as swimming, watersport rentals, dining and restroom facilities. Take a stroll down the north pier to have beautiful views of both lighthouses. On a windy day, fly a kite or watch the kiteboarders! Take advantage of this beach for great photo opportunities!

Directions from the Inn: From our driveway take a Left on Woodman, Left on North Shore and Right on Avery. Just a short 5-minute walk from the Inn.

South Beach

South Beach

60 Water Street – South Haven

Iconic South Beach is the perfect sunbathing destination. A great place to mix and mingle with fellow travelers, South Beach is always full of energy and fun. This white sand beach has access to the historical South Haven Lighthouse via a stroll down our famous pier. South Beach also offers a concession stand and souvenir shop, picnic areas, and restrooms. Take a swim or rent a kayak or paddleboard and enjoy the water. The day is yours!

Directions from the Inn: Walking or by car – take a Right onto Woodman Street, Left onto Park Avenue, Right on Dyckman Street, Right on Williams Street (at the end of the Drawbridge) then Right on Water Street (an extension of Phoenix Street).

175 North Shore Drive – South Haven

The closest beach to the Inn sits pristinely along the beautiful north side, and is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon soaking up the sun without having to deal with large crowds. Long stretches of white sand framed by a deep blue shoreline make Woodman Street Beach a perfect location for a quiet and peaceful afternoon. Borrow one of our chairs relax and watch the sunset. Sunset times are posted at the inn.

Directions from the Inn: From our driveway take a Left on Woodman Street and stroll straight to the beach.

Dyckman Beach

175 North Shore Drive – South Haven

With 300 feet of perfect sandy beach, Dyckman Beach offers a less crowded, quaint, and romantic place to enjoy the Lake Michigan shoreline. Take a dip in the warm water and search the shoreline for beach glass to take home as a souvenir. Finally, lie back and listen to the seagulls…just let your worries slip away.

 

Directions from the Inn: Walk out of our driveway, take a Left on Woodman Street, Right on North Shore Drive and it is one block on the Left.

Packard Park & Beach

231 North Shore Drive – South Haven

While large in area, Packard Park & Beach exudes a small beach atmosphere with loads of charm. After an observation deck is the beach where amenities abound with shelters, picnic tables, and restroom facilities. Along with the beautiful sandy beach, the park offers cozy places to lounge under granddaddy oaks, and enjoy a waterfront view.

Directions from the Inn walking: Out of the parking lot take a Left on Woodman Street, a Right on North Shore Drive, it is 2 blocks down on the Left. There is parking available.

Monroe Boulevard Overlook

This is a special and romantic place to view South Beach and the lighthouse. Sit on one of the benches and enjoy a birds-eye view of the waves rolling in and magnificent sunsets. If you have the energy take Blue Stairs to the beach for some of the city’s best rock hunting.

Directions from the Inn: Walking or by car – Take a Right onto Woodman Street, Left onto Park Avenue, Right on Dyckman Street, Right on Williams Street (at the end of the Drawbridge), then Right on Water Street (an extension of Phoenix Street). Go to South Beach and exit out on the south side of the parking lot on Erie Street and take a Right at the stop sign onto Monroe Boulevard. Around Monroe street you will see mutable benches on the Right.

Deerlick Creek Beach

It has quite a small footprint but is one of the prettiest parks in South Haven. The shoreline is rocky. As you see fewer rocks, the scenery becomes more and more beautiful with native dune grass. Get up early if you are a sea glass searcher or rock collector.

Directions from the Inn: Drive out of the parking lot, Right on Woodman, a Left on Park Avenue, Right onto Dyckman Street (Dyckman turns into Broadway). In 2 miles take a Right onto Blue Star Highway. Next take a sharp Right onto 76th Street. Turn Left onto 13th Avenue.

With 27 acres it’s easy to lose track of an afternoon here wandering through the spring wildflowers, exploring the beech-maple forest trails, searching for water critters in Dyckman Creek, or losing yourself in a quest for the perfect rock on the Lake Michigan shoreline.
