Lake Michigan is must for you "fisher persons". May through early September fish off the piers, charter a boat and troll for King or Coho Salmon, Brown and Lake Trout, Steel-head, or anchor and wait for the Lake Perch to bite. A variety of tournaments are held in South Haven.
We have one word of advice. DO NOT take BANANAS aboard a charter boat. History tells the warning originated from the early years when boats, with bananas in their cargo, ran aground, were missing at sea, or lost many of their crew to a deadly sickness. Further investigations indicated banana's were prone to carry the deadly tarantula. Wives tale or not, leave the bananas home.

Don't want to charter? Try fishing off South Haven's many piers. We were all surprised when a recent guest nailed a salmon, off the dock, behind the Carriage House. I bet he didn't have a banana in his sack lunch.
